Q: Ms. New, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?

A: I always knew I was an actor ever since I was a child -- but it took me a while to realize I could, that it was a real possibility & not just a fantasy; and get the courage to act on that & come to LA & commit to making that happen. When I first got to LA - I knew nothing, knew no one - didn't have a clue... & there was no guide to tell me...I don’t know how it happened - I’m just stubborn & hard working.

Q: What was the very first movie you did?

A:“Up Close and Personal” with Michelle Pfieffer and Robert Redford. I played James Rebhorn’s secretary. And I had 2 scenes which were immediately cut out in the first edit. But it was the first time I ever acted in a film. I was very excited about it. Because I had just gotten to L.A. and I had been working as Michelle Pfeiffer’s photo double. And the director was like “You’re doing a really good job, I’m gonna write some scenes for you.” And he wrote 2 scenes. I had a real character and I was ready to pee my pants because I was terrified. That turned our really good. And Michelle Pfeiffer later referred me to Michael Pressman and I had 3 lines in her next film. And that was really sweet and super cool. It was really nice to work on an A-List production.

Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "The Pit & the Pendulum."

A: In “The Pit & the Pendulum” I play a hypnotherapist who invites a bunch of people to her house for therapy.. & then they die.

Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.

A: “The Pit & the Pendulum” was shot in 4 days for almost no money! I did all my own hair, make up, & wardrobe. I was really excited to have a lead role & the opportunity to carry a film. I felt a great responsibility to really do my best under all those constraints. I’m proud of the outcome and was thrilled to even get some good reviews! It is currently available of netflix and Blockbuster.

Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?

A: There wasn't anything particularly difficult in the shooting - since I did about 2 weeks of preparation before hand - building the character - creating her look & wardrobe, & talking with the director - as well as memorizing all the dialog. So by the time we shot -- I was really ready - since I knew there wouldn't be time not to be!

Q: Looking back, I know that you’ve also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about them and your experience with it? First, “Alien 51”?

A: I’ve never seen "Alien 51" -- so I don’t know how it turned out. (Actually - I’ve never seen most of my films) I was only there for 1 day and never even saw the script. I drove out to the desert - and they wrote a scene when I got there. They Hired me over the internet. I never met them in person so I was kind of freaking out, driving to this obscure location in the desert. As I’m driving, I’m thinking “what if this is a scam and there are psycho killers waiting for me.” But then I got there and there was a full crew and everything. They were so casual. I was like “is there a script” and they were like “Oh, we’ll just write something when you get here. We have an idea.” I’ve never even read the script, I don’t even know until after the film that Heidi Fleiss was in it. She wasn’t there so I’ve never met her. I’ve never seen the movie. I had 2 little scenes. Sorta like Zombie in a 1940’s German zombie cabaret person. There’s this girl and I and we worked out this funny little scene with our lines. It was really funny.

Q: How about “Corpses”?

A: “Corpses” was funny -- I have some amusing stories about the making of "Corpses" -- (hehe) I really liked the director, Rolfe Kanefsky - he was a trooper. I’m a rare talking zombie. Zombies don’t usually talk. There were 10 of us zombies, so I guess I was the lead zombie. And he had us come to his house, his house was inside a video store. And he all these shelves full of videos and he gave us a zombie tutorial. He had all the movies queue’d up and he was like, “ok, in this movie…” He was a zombie expert. That was really cool.

Q: I saw from your Twitter page, you recently just did some shooting on a new film. Can you tell me a bit about it??

A: I just worked on “Noirland” - with Razi Abed directing & Esther - who also produced “Corpses”). I worked 2 days - and have not seen a script -- just my 2 scenes - but it was great fun - soo many people I’ve worked with before in this one.

Q: What's next for you? What else does 2010 hold for you?

A: In 2010, I have a bunch of film projects in the works -- will be one of the hosts for the Style 101 series, & have a couple other films coming out too!

Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day? Or perhaps any actors or actresses you’d like to star with in a film?

A: I want to work with EVERYONE! I really love working -- & hope to continue growing. I like to entertain - & touch people.

Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?

A: The last horror film I saw was "The Crazies" -- LOVED it! Robert Hall is sooo cool!

Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
