Leprechaun 6: Back 2 tha Hood (2003)

The Leprechaun is back for the 6th time, this time because a few more members of “da hood” find his gold and start to spend it. But he won’t let them get away with that stuff, for shizzle.
Overall: I was hoping for a fairly amusing film and found only really one scene that did it for me (Watson’s cell-phone ringing). Other than that scene the dialogue is all cursing and swearing and nothing special. The history of the “Leprechaun” was nice and unique and basically ripping off “Wishmaster.” What bugged me the most in the film totally stereotypes “African–Americans” and that plays that off in this film as fact. Not saying that there aren’t neighborhoods or whatever exactly like this but basically the last 2 Leprechaun films are just capitalizing on stereotyping Black Society and bottom line, it gets boring. The gold tooth, the marijuana, the gang violence, etc. it gets old. Basically take the storyline to “Boys in the Hood” and add the Leprechaun and here is what you’d get. Oh yeah, no nudity or appreciable gore either. Just people beating up an innocent Irish monster! You’re my Ninja! Comparison: Higher Learning meets Leprechaun |
