A rescue squad is on its way to Ithacon, a planet taken over by the Leprechaun who has abducted Princess Csarina. A quick fight causes the leprechaun to dive onto a grenade to save the lovely princess from friendly fire, for our lucky green creature wants to marry into royalty. But after the Princess is on the rescue ship heading home, the Leprechaun appears suddenly and wrecks havoc on them all. Only the princess can save them and she must decide if she's in this for the money for the morality.
Overall: Easily the worst of the series and for the big Wooden Spoon Sin: failure to follow the storylines. This is the only leprechaun film not to have rhymes. It doesn't feature a pot of Gold...or any 4-leaf clovers. Not even a medallion. Frankly outside of the Lep being a space demon, there's nothing to remotely connect this to any myths or fairy tales. It's got nothing to do with the prior 3 films or the the2 (as of 2005) that have succeeded it. All we care about this time is some mysterious "wife" and the fact she can't keep her top on. The effects are atrocious as we see some nice cables during a scene that the Lep is flying through the air. The film was most likely filmed at a laser tag arena and basically this was a waste of film and talent. What makes the film memorable is that 3 actors were later in "Beverly Hills 90210," 2 were in "ER" and 2 were in "Night of the Demons 2." I think the worst part of the film is actually the lack of rhymes by the villain. Frankly I find the entire series silly but slightly enjoyable. For Christmas of 2004, I received the "Pot of Gore" set featuring the first 5 films...the above was written in 2001 and so I've had some time to re-watch this film again. I watched the films and frankly, it's the imagination of the rhyming and the stories that can make the films fun. And yet this film is so devoid of anything fun...the jokes are more Arnold S. one-liners than anything and you can see that this film is different. But not in a good way. The director may have wanted to "do something different" but it soooo did not work in their favor. Skip this film regardless of the female cast that appears in it.
