- Lena Nazarei has appeared in "Stockholm Syndrome". Anyone looking for more info on Lena or her work, can visit her at her myspace page.
Q: Lena, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?
A: I auditioned for a film in the area that was written and directed by Michael Migliore. He commented and how well I was tortured and said I should contact Ryan Cavalline. Ryan gave me a part just on the recommendation of Michael. (As far as I know, he doesn’t regret it)
Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "Stockholm Syndrome."
A: I am one of the unfortunate kidnap victims. A less then holy priest chooses me from a row of caged people and buys me. Once I am purchased, the Father can have his way with me……and does.
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.
A: This is a low budget film and people should approach it as such. That being said, and this comes from someone who has seem A LOT of low budget horror, this film surpasses the others of the genre. Ryan is a filmmaker to keep an eye on.
Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?
A: The cold!!!! I was in a very cold garage, in a very small amount of clothing with very cold blood all over me. Acting through that is not easy. But, in between takes, the crew threw their own jackets on me. Who says chivalry is dead?!
Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work the way you thought it could?
A: I and my entourage (my best friends Steph and Joe) trekked to the premiere showing of Stockholm. When I saw it on the big screen I was blown away by the final product. I knew it was something that a lot of people would enjoy and that I was so lucky to be a part of it.
Q: What other projects have you been involved in?
A:
Actually, I am a stage actress. All of my credits involved musicals and comedy. But, I am a long time horror fan and always wanted to do films. Stockholm was my first, and I hope, not my last.
Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what you have going on in 2009?
A: I am a full-time nursing student. I am determined to finish my degree and work in trauma nursing. But, I fully intended to get back on the screen in between Anatomy and Microbiology classes.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day? Or perhaps any actors or actresses you’d like to star with in a film?
A: I would be excited to work with anyone really. Every director, producer and actor teach you something. Mean, nice, good, bad, rigid or free….they can all add to the experiences that you draw on later.
I would definitely like to work with the guys from DSK Productions. They make low-budget horror comedies that appeal to my twisted sense of humor and are a lot of fun!
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: I am an avid fan of ghost hunting. Steph and I went to the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum last summer. We spent the night wandering the empty, dark halls of the long abandoned building hoping that a lost soul would reach for us. I cannot wait for my next possible haunt to explore.
Along that line (and at the risk of sounding cheesy) I want to say to the readers … Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something or your dreams are ridiculous. Show them differently!!
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A:
I just watched “Midnight Meat Train” and was sadly disappointed.
But, one of my recent obscure horror discoveries is “The Cottage”. Great writing, fantastic acting, and perfect timing! Look for a cameo by Doug Bradley……brilliant and creepy as usual.
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A: Thank you for asking. This all has been like a dream. I hope I never wake up.
