Lake Placid (1999)

The killer crocodiles are back and this time they don't take "no" for an answer. Word begins to spread about a giant crocodile inhabiting a lake on the East Coast and soon Kelly Scott must visit to see what's going on. But her presence there isn't entirely wanted, especially by Sheriff Wells and other distinguished scientists, Hector Cyr have begun to appear after hearing the rumors. Once everyone is assembled, all hell breaks loose as the Croc decides to play with his food (see video below). That's when the police and scientists must up their ante. But the Croc has some secrets of his own: an old foul-mouthed lady who helps to feed him. With at least one townsperson on its side, this Croc just may be immortal!

Overall: Compared to the giant monster films (Anaconda -- Giant Snake, Deep Blue Sea -- Giant Shark), this has the best story and graphics. Good humor too. Ignore Betty White since the parade of obscenities by this "Golden Girl" can really turn a person off. Enjoy Oliver Platt though - and the Croc too!
