- Krisondra Daigneault has appeared in many movies, including "Blood De Madam: The Fallen Ones", "Krampus" and "Bowling Alley." Anyone looking for more info on Krisondra or her films, can visit her at her IMDB page or her website: MySpace
Q: Krisondra, can you explain how you first got into the movie business.
A: I actually started modeling first when I was ten, then I decided to try acting. My mom registered me on an online talent submission site and then she began managing my career herself. On my first audition I received a call back and on my second audition I was cast as a lead in a film called “Lickskillet as Floramaria, a Goth girl competing in a school spelling bee competition.
After finishing my first film I found that I enjoyed acting. Since then, my mom found me an amazing manager by the name of Kim Matuka in Beverly Hills CA.; and now my career is beginning to soar.
Q: I gotta ask about your name, Ms. Krisondra Daigneault. It’s so unique and interesting. Is there a story behind them?
A: Yes. My mother liked the name Cassandra but she did not care for the nick name Cassie, and my dad liked the name Kristy but my mom wanted a more unique name. So she combined the two names and changed the “a” in Sandra to an “o”; and that’s how she made my name Krisondra. My last name is French pronounced (Dane-yo).
Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "Krampus"?
A: I play the role of Hannah Mitten, one of two daughters of a Hunter’s family; and since it hasn’t come out yet I really can’t tell you much more at this time.
Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one’s product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about this film.
A: The Krampus is based on a legend from Austria; I feel that this film will be scary and very entertaining. The Krampus is still in production, and I believe there is a lot of time and effort going into this project to make it believable and frightening, all at the same time.
Q: If there were one part of the film that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a scene to work? Certain lines? Location difficulties?
A: There are always things that could go wrong during filming; however, I found that most film directors and producers are perfectionist so they always find a way to make it all work. Things like wardrobe malfunctions are usually easily fixed; if not, then they find a way to alter it and make it better.
As an Actress, it is important to be professional but still have fun at the same time. I usually don’t have problems with lines but if the scene is not just right the director will have us go over it again until he is happy with the take.
Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work they way you thought it could?
A: Yes and No. After reading the script I usually have a good idea about how I like the story. Then after seeing the actors bring the characters to life its cool to imagine how the film will look; however, it is not uncommon to film out of sequence, so it can be hard to picture how the film will look until it’s finished. Therefore, it is exciting even for us to see the finished product at the Premiers.
Q: I see that you've also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about each one and your experience with it? First, "Simply Lost"?
A: Simply Lost was based on a true story; I played the role of Lucille. The story is about how a young woman is trying to raise her sisters by herself, and protecting them from their mother.
I actually felt honored to play one of the lead characters. I met and played with the girls that inspired the director to write “Simply Lost”. We played together in the pool at the Mansion where we filmed some of the footage, and the film is up on IMDb.com if anyone would like to see it. The cast and crew were great, and the experience was fun!
Q: How about “Horrorween”?
A: Horrorween is still filming. My mom actually designed my Goth costume and showed it to the producer; he liked it so much he allowed me to use it as my Goth attire for the film. My mother and grandmother also made the umbrella from scratch; plus my mom designed my Goth bedroom for a scene in the movie. I spent long hours in my Goth outfit and make up, and sometimes the costume was uncomfortable, but overall I had fun filming.
Q: How about “Silent Night Zombie Night”?
A: In this film I play a cameo role of a character named Missy Glendon; she becomes infected… Very Scary! But since this film hasn’t come out yet I really can’t say much more about this one either.
Q: How about “Bowling Alley”?
A: Bowling Alley was a lot of fun! It should be out in the stores soon...I play the role of “Patty” a girl that is spending time with her father in a bowling alley when things go wrong, and many people find themselves closed in the bowling alley for the night.
There are many lead characters in this film and everyone has their own reasons for being at the bowling alley that night. The cast and crew were great to work with and in the few months that we filmed, everyone got to know one another quite well. There will be a lot of scary moments, adult content, and blood in this one; however, I think there will be some comedic moments as well.
Q: How about “Blood De Madam: The Fallen Ones”?
A: Since this film is based on a true story, to me it makes this horror film so scary and more powerful! In this film I’m “Christine”, a girl that has been captured and horrible things happen to her. There is an amazing story line that horror fans will want to see. “The Fallen Ones” is part of a trilogy and I can’t tell you too much more, but it will definitely be a nail bitter!!!
The film is in pre- production right now but we should be filming soon. I am looking forward to meeting all the actors, the director H. G. Lewis and the writer Keith Stoddard; plus seeing friends again from past productions as well.
Q: What's next for you? Can you tell me what else you have going on in 2009?
A: 2009 is going to be amazing!!! “Extinction” is going to be an exciting action film with so many genres in one film. I play the role of Crystal/ Guardian. EXTINCTION is a mixture of various big action films. The main character, Colossus, tries to figure out who he is and at the same time he is trying to save his wife and uncle; all this, plus saving the world from EXTINCTION.
We begin filming in March or April this year; and they have hopes of a release date in the summer of 2010. Then they plan to get started on Extinction 2 and I’m proud to say I will be one of the main characters!
Then “ELK the Elf” is an animated film, and another movie project in pre-production; I play the role of ELK. A cute Elf and her friends discover the true meaning of Christmas... plus more!
And more projects in the works!...
Q: If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?
A: The writer for Extinction has other roles in mind for me, and it will be fun to talk about my experience on both the Extinction and Blood De Madam sets. Also, I should have more to say about my modeling career. So, there are many things happening but you will need to ask me more about all this next time.
Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day?
A: Oh yes! For horror I would love to work with Wes Craven, Rob Zombie and I’m already going to work with H.G. Lewis in Blood De Madam, which will be awesome!
Also, Adam Sandler... He is amazing behind the camera and in front of the camera as well, and I love his Happy Madison films. Ron Howard is also a very gifted producer/ director; he did such an awesome job on one of my favorite films, “The Grinch”! Plus it would be great to work with Gore Verbinski and Chris Columbus; I really admire their work!
Q: I’ve noticed that some of your horror films projects have such experienced acting ensembles. Who have you enjoyed working with?
A: I’ve enjoyed working with many actors...The director of “Horrorween”, Joe Estevez (Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez Uncle) is truly a talented and sweet man… I had fun working with him!
Actually, I’ve enjoyed all the actors and directors that I’ve worked with so far... And I can’t wait to meet everyone on the Blood De Madam Cast and Crew.
Q: Are there certain types of films you enjoy doing? What do you look for when picking projects?
A: Horror films have been fun! And now that my mom has been writing, I would love to be in the horror film that she is working on...Also I’m looking forward to filming Extinction; but I think I would also like to try a comedy film soon.
Overall, I would say I pick projects I feel have a good storyline;
and acting as different characters and traveling to new places is always fun… LOL! But seriously, meeting new people is nice but I think I enjoy acting with my friends the most. So if I like a script and then I find out some of my friends are in the film too, I get excited!
Q: You’ve appeared in a few films, but have also done some modeling and tv, correct? Can you tell us where we may have seen you in those various projects?
A: As for my modeling, I have appeared in internet catalogues and I’m on the cover of a modeling book called Model Quest. In 2006, I was in a calendar and I’ve been interviewed and appeared in Portrait Magazine. Last year, I was in the 2007/2008 Winter Issue of Teen Trend magazine, and I was a fashion model for Quicksilver/Roxy. And…. I’m a promotional model for and sponsored by “Expressions” a store in Southern California.
As for television I was the young daughter of the Vanover family, on the TV reality show called Murder, the episode was called Blood Soaked and I played the role of Allyson Vanover. It can be found on Spike TV.
I have more upcoming projects pending but I can’t say what they are yet.
Q: If you could choose only one type of art (modeling, movies, tv, etc) to continue working on, what would you choose?
A: Wow! That would be a hard choice; but I would have to say movies… I really enjoy the various characters I can play and the different places to travel to for film.
Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?
A: Hmmm.... about me…?
I love animals…
and I don’t like tea. LOL!
Last….. I think it’s important to believe in yourself, and surround yourself with positive people. Then, follow your dreams!!!
Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?
A: I’ve seen the SAW I thru V series, The Mist, The Reaping, Prom Night, Shutter and Captivity recently. I also saw Crazy Eights but I’m not sure if many others have seen it; however, I would have to say I liked Captivity and SAW II the best!
Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
A:
It was my pleasure, anytime……and Thank You for the interview!
Hugs,
Krisondra
