Q: Without giving too much away for later questions, what have you been up to since we last talked (October 2009)?
A: Hey Rich! Thank you for having me back for another interview...
Recently, I just auditioned for a couple of major film projects...a couple of episodes and one day time soap. I hope to get them, but one never knows exactly what they are looking for so all I can do is my best and then wait lol! There are a couple of other films that I've already been cast for and they are in development and preproduction.
Also, my mom is almost finished writing an animation. I was asked to play the role of Reign in "The Reign Chronicles", it's an amazing beginning of many sagas. She's also writing a teen comedy and an action/thriller that she hasn't named yet. There's another film called "Ghost Kids" written by my mom and another writer and it's being looked at right now. So I can't wait to make all those characters come to life! There are many things going on, but it all takes time.
Q: Tell me a little bit about "The Oatmeal Man." Is it finished and how's it looking?
A: The Oatmeal Man is looking great!
Sean's team is working diligently to make the effects look amazing, and put together a good film! Since it is a Horromedy, Horror/Comedy, I think the comedy will give the film a nice spoof of fun, and it has originality with a great storyline that will allow the film to shine. We are hoping that all the efforts made will stand out from other films and remakes; which is seen a lot of these days.
Q: Sean Gordon is working with you on this film, but you have worked with him before, right? Tell me a little about how you met him and what it's been like working with him.
A:
Sean and I met on another horror film in October 2007. I believe we were on that set for a few months and we got to be good friends. My brother and my mom also business partnered with Sean on a few other projects since then too. Today he is one of my best friends and a good friend of the family.
Working with Sean on "The Oatmeal Man" was great! He really has done a nice job and he was fun to work with. Sean also plays the role of John. We were cast as John and Krisha, the perfect couple that everyone loves to hate, with no drama like Santiago and Annie lol!
He had to take on acting and directing at the same time so he was pulling double duty; it could get a little stressful but I think he did well. My brother was the DP so Colten did a great job understanding what Sean had envisioned, and Sean welcomed a lot of my brother's ideas as well. So I think we all worked well together and we had a great experience on the project.
Sean is the producer too! So he and his team are making the final touches to create a fun horror film for all the fans; plus we have plans to make a few other films together in the very near future.
Q: You have a nice cast of actors in the film. Tell me a little bit about your costars and your experience with them: Nicole Kunz, Moira Dennis, Sal Perales, Claude Foster, Donna Sergi, John Karyus, Al Burke and Kaleo.
A:
I've had the pleasure of working with some of the actors on other projects, and I've made some new friends on this project as well. We all had a great time filming...Sal and Claude are so funny! They always kept us laughing but we all knew when we needed to get the job done. Donna was such a sweet mom! I enjoyed having her play my mom for "The Oatmeal Man". Overall, we all had a great time! If we ever make the second Oatmeal Man movie, the fans may get a chance to find out there's more to be told and there's a secret. but shhhh... I'm not telling... Haha!
Q: Last time I asked you what the hardest part of the film would be, and you felt the hardest part might be the effects, especially working with ...Oatmeal... Now that you are in post-production, has that changed at all? How do the effects look now?
A:
The Oatmeal was so hard to work with and it was so gooey and slimy...yuk! I think that's what gave us the most problems... However, my little sister Kiana was one of the twins. During her scene, she had a great time playing in the oatmeal! She said it was so much fun! Haha!
Q: Can you tell me what else you have planned for 2010?
A:
Billy's Nightmare will begin filming this fall and I was just cast for a new thriller/horror from Big Dreams Production; which begins filming next month.
I love to model as well...so there are some plans there too...there's so much more in the works but I can't announce it yet.
Q: Anything else you wish to add for my readers and visitors?
A:
Sure.
If one surfs through TheOatmealman.com site they will find fun trading cards and other information, from the sponsors that helped make the Oatmeal Man possible, and more...
I do know that "The Oatmeal Man" team are really excited about the cooking popularity and greatly appreciates all sponsors and others that are helping make The Oatmeal Man come alive. And...I would personally like to Thank Snookies Cookies for all their tasty cookies while we were filming YUM! :D
Q: Finally...can you name a horror movie you've been dying to watch but just haven't had the opportunity to see yet?
The latest SAW was Awesome! So if they wanted to cast me for another saga, I would say... YES!
I think I would like to see Shutter Island, I haven't had a chance to see that yet; and I can't wait to see the new Nightmare on Elm Street.
Q: Thank you so very much for doing this.
Thank you for inviting me...
This is my third interview for Obscure Horror and I have enjoyed each one...
Thank you so much!
Best wishes as always...
~Krisondra
