Ju-on: The Curse 1 (2000)

Summary: Toshio is missing from school and his teacher goes to the home to find out what has happened. Well needless to say he discovers the horrors that have occurred therein and becomes a victim himself.           Overall: I truly wish I had seen th 6 films in their original order, as opposed to seeing the very first “Ju-on” films last. These were pretty good, and included some scenes that never got replicated in the other remakes. It’s a faster paced film, gorier and frankly, scarier.           And for that, its totally worth finding copies to watch. Note, this film is not in wide-release in the U.S. I ended up getting a copy on Ebay which basically was the Japanese dvd release with some poor subtitling. I won’t hold that against the film, but it does sorta reduce the quality when their English at the bottom of the screen is just being butchered and misspelled. Anyway, very subtle scares and really a good film. Well worth the watching. I only wish I could find someone who enjoys horror, hasn’t seen any Ju-on/Grudge films so I can show them in chronological order.           Comparison: None
