Summary: Kayla, Nik, Melissa and Bobby are on their way to Vegas when their car breaks down. They end up “borrowing” someone else’s car, which so happens to belong to Rusty Nail… Now that they’ve made him mad, they’re gonna pay. One by one, he’ll pick them off but just like last time, he’s got some tough competitors.
Overall: I’ve got mixed thoughts on the film. I will readily admit that the moment I heard this was coming out I was groaning in horror. “Oh no!” But then I watched it. And it’s interesting because the reviews this film gets online is pretty much a regular span of emotions and thoughts. I read one review accusing the film of having no character development and other sites finding the film quite refreshing because of how much development there was. As for me, I kinda liked how the film was going. It was just realistic enough for much of the picture to buy into how the characters were reacting. Take the scenes later in the film when Nik, the new BF for Kayla whom she met on “MySpace” wants to back out and go home. He didn’t know 2 of these people before the day started and now 1 of them has been kidnapped and they’re all being psychologically tortured. What Melissa says to him to keep him involved sounded fairly realistic. I think they’re all very honest in their emotions and that works. I think the torture scenes were fairly unique…the game of “Craps” that Rusty Nail sets up was interesting. How that all played out as well. What I didn’t like about it, was frankly, the voice for Rusty Nail. I wanted the voice from part 1 and although this was close…it wasn’t “it” for me. And it bothered me the rest of the time. And then finally the ending…Typical, typical horror movie ending…And its sad. Comparison: JoyRide meets Hills have Eyes |
