Q: Jackie, can you explain how you first got into the movie business?

A: I started out in Brazil over a decade ago. I moved to Sao Paulo to study acting. Got an audition with the renowned Brazilian director Carlos Reichembach, and booked the job. I was an acclaimed film called Alma Corsaria. The rest as they say, is history.

Q: Would you please explain your acting role in "Blood Scarab."

A:I played the role of Elana, a college grad, who worked as the assistant of the museum curator, where the mummy of Hor-Shep-Sut disappears from.

Q: Knowing how movie reviews may skew the perception of one's product, give us in your own words what you want people to know about the film.

A: Blood Scarab as you know is a genre film. It was well done, with a good cast. The story is based on the infamous sixteenth century countess Elizabeth Bathory, who bathed in the blood of virgins to preserve her youth.

Q: If there were one part of the filming that was more difficult than you expected, what would that be? Getting a costume to work? Appearing in a certain scene? Certain lines?

A: I had a supporting role; everything went smoothly with my scenes.

Q: Was there any one day, one moment where you just knew the film would work they way you thought it could?

A: We knew it when we cast our lead actress.

Q: You also worked on the film as an “Associate Producer.” Can you tell us what the job entailed? Is there a future in that instead of acting or just something that’s fun to do in addition to acting?

A: The director and I cast the project. I also handled the extras and helped out on the set. I love acting more than anything, the reason I get involved behind the scenes is to absorb and learn as much s I can about the process of filmmaking.

Q: Looking back, I see that you’ve also appeared in other films. Can you tell me a little about each one and your experience with it? First, "Day of the Dead 2: Contagium”?

A:It was my first English language film playing a lead character, not only that, DOTD is also a cult classic, so I felt the pressure. However, everything worked out fine in the end.

2) How about “Werewolf in a Women's Prison”?

A:This film is a cross between”An American Werewolf in London” and “King Kong,” with a much smaller budget. The cast and crew were great, I absolutely loved my character. I played a sadistic lesbian prison guard, learned about sadism, and how to use a whip. It was liberating, and I really had a good time whipping the female prisoners (joke).

3) How about “Confession of an Exorcist”?

A:It was a very interesting role. I played a coroner and researched a lot about the medical field. I called my doctor and nurse friends, had a one week crash course, and learned how to play doctor.

4) How about “Boppin' at the Glue Factory”?

A:It’s a dark comedy about a junkie male nurse that works the night shift at a convalescent hospital. My character is a nurse who is secretly in love with the junkie. She flirts with him online through her internet name Anal Goddess.

Q: What's next for you? If you and I were to talk 1 year from today, what do you think would be on your plate at that time?

A: What’s next? Well, I just got back from NY, where I was shooting a romantic comedy called “Flick’s Chicks”. Yeah, I played a lesbian again, it could be a coincidence or maybe I’m becoming typecast. Since I’m also the executive producer of the project, shooting it was just half the work. We are now in the editing and distribution process. I’m also in talks about two action-crime projects. One year from now, I’ll still be living in LA, most likely acting and producing another feature. I also have a real estate business, and 12 months from now I hope it will be in much better shape. Besides that, only God knows what is reserved for me. I might be married and have a baby by then!

Q: Is there any movie director or producer you really want to work for one day?

A: The director that I would love to work with is Clint Eastwood. He is a very talented and amazing person. I had the chance to meet and chat with him for a few minutes at the 2005 Academy Awards. It was right before he got the Oscar for Best Director and Best Picture for “Million Dollar Baby.” Al Pacino, whom I had the pleasure of meeting twice, would be my choice as actor.

Q: Are there certain films you enjoy doing? You’ve appeared in some films with some horror elements in them, but the rest tend to be diverse and just look like you’re out to have some fun. What do you look for when picking films?

A: I believe as an actress, I should be able to play any character in any genre. I love diversity, whether it’s an action, comedy, drama, or horror film. I’ll consider most projects that come my way, as long as I’m comfortable with it. Right now I’m looking for more dramatic roles and characters with more depth.

Q: You’ve appeared in a bunch of films, done some TV and theatre and even danced professionally, correct? So far from everything you have done, what do you want to keep working on?

A: Yes, I traveled to many places around the world as a professional samba dancer. Those days are over now. I still do shows once in awhile in L A. Theater was my first love, I learned a lot about discipline & commitment on the stage. Now I’m focusing on film and TV, but I won’t turn down a great play.

Q: Anything you wish to add for my readers and visitors? Something special about you that they probably do not know?

A: Ok, here it goes; I’m a neat freak, a sucker for chocolate, and I don’t have any tan lines..

Q: Finally...this is an "Obscure Horror Movie" website. Can you name the last horror movie you watched either at the theatres or on dvd, etc? How about name a favorite horror film that you have seen that most people probably haven't seen?

A: The last movie I saw on DVD was “El Orfanato” (The Orphanage) My favorite film is “The Others,” with Nicole Kidman.

Q: Thank you very much for doing this.
