Summary: Robert Griffin turns up at the estate of Sir Jasper Herrick, having been missing for five years and presumed dead. He in fact was suffering from amnesia after Griffin led an expedition that uncovered a source of diamonds in Africa. Assuming the worst, he was abandoned there by Sir Jasper. He now demands his share of the proceeds from the expedition but Sir Jasper has spent it all and has Griffin thrown off the grounds. Griffin comes to the house of Dr Drury who persuades Griffin to become his first human subject in his invisibility experiment. Once he becomes invisible he uses his newfound powers to terrorize Sir Jasper and his family!
Overall: This definitely comes close to being one of the worst sequels of all-time. We have the same actor from part 4…he has the same last name for his character from part 4 (Griffin)…and it’s about an invisibility formula. And that’s all. Our good guy is now the bad guy, different first name and despite the last name connection, this is an entirely new story connecting nothing back to any of the first 4 films. It’s so inconsistent in its loyalty to the prior films, it's simply a mess. And there’s absolutely no reason to watch it since it offers nothing new nor answers previous unanswered questions. Just a waste of time. Comparison: Hollow Man meets Animal Crackers |
