The Wraith (1986)

A small town is terrorized by a gang of teens who coerce local drivers into car races in which they forfeit their vehicles if they lose. Jake has just arrived in town and draws the wrath of the gang’s leader, Packard Walsh, when he becomes interested in his girl, Keri. At the same a mysterious black turbo-charged Dodge M4S appears and its camouflaged driver challenging each member of the gang one by one. Seems Jake knows a little too much about this gang and Keri and soon, everyone will know why.

Overall: I think the film has some basic flaws but it’s also an 80’s classic. Nice car chases, for its time, and some nice ideas. The cast wasn’t too bad itself (Charlie Sheen, Sherilyn Fenn, Clint Howard, Randy Quaid) either. But the plot has the police a little too stupid and the rest of the town not caring at all with what’s happening. And despite it’s so obvious how the film will proceed, it’s got enough interesting songs, it keeps you from fast-forwarding.
