Kenneth is a tech writer who is so shy and lonely, the only fun he’s ever gonna have is with a sex doll he purchased over the internet. Costing a pretty penny, he brings it home and is more than happy with what he’s getting out of it. But he’s on a big and important project and been assigned an assistant. He starts to realize he can have feelings for women and the doll no longer takes the lead in his life. But the doll isn’t ok with this…nor is his subconscious and soon Kenneth is gonna have a breakdown. Only one woman will remain in his life…
Overall: I recorded this movie off of cable tv thinking it’s the usual “Cinemax-fare” giving it very little respect. Figured the film is gonna be either super-cheesy comedy or just some plain sex film where the doll gets involved too. Yep, this film was marketed that poorly! First off, go get this movie. It’s got a lot going for it, but frankly, when the climax starts...when the film has like 20 minutes left, it gets into 4th gear and races to the finish. Many people have disliked the ending, feeling it was out of place or copying too much of other films. I disagree...the ending is what was needed to finish this film off right. What kept my attention was how wrong I was with where this story was going. The film is definitely worth a viewing and don’t take it for granted. It’s similar to “Audition” in that tends to set up the plot in a slow and safe manner and then once it’s ready to scare you, it brings out the heavy artillery. Enjoy this film.
