Nothing is as fun as a good ole fashioned camping trip to the woods and this weekend, the gang is all here. We have Cindy and Brad, who are the objects of a secret swinger desire of Jason & Betty. We have Dilly and Dolly, 2 stoners just looking to light something on fire. We have Ernie…a nerd who may not be all there but is convinced by the stories of killers loose on the woods. And he’s right, because there is a person walking the woods looking for victims and won’t stop at nothing but total annihilation. But Cindy is strong-willed woman and she won’t give up no matter what it takes.
Overall: Films such as this have little other than a story and the actors to make it all work. With a budget of about $500.00, you shouldn’t be expecting million dollar effects. But that’s ok. The film works well with what it has. It’s got some decent effects, some nice cinematography and frankly, the actors make this film. I’ve seen some bad acting jobs in my time. But this film had some good acting and even better, characters you got to know something about. They wanted to have fun and do their best on the budget they had…and did a fine job. I’m not gonna “lay it on thick” and forget the probs though. Despite the low-budget, there are just entirely too many slow-motion shots. And the film frankly has such little dialogue for the first 14 minutes, I started to wonder if it was trying to be a silent film. :) Ok, seriously, it’s a good low-budget movie. You can see the time they put into this, the care they took to avoid even the tiniest of errors and it has good some good effects. When you find this film, pop it into the dvd player and maybe catch tomorrow’s stars…today. Comparison: Bloody Murder meets The Town that Dreaded Sundown |
