Dr. Lorenz is a horticulturist that is using rare orchids to poison young women and then kidnaps them so that he can use their bodily fluids to keep his wife alive. But a particular female reporter wants to find out the true story but it may include losing her life.
Overall: This film basically put me to sleep. Even the review you are reading took longer than it should because even thinking of the plot made me yawn. The film really has no answers outside of implying them. The couple lives in coffins but doesn’t bite anyone. The wife needs the blood/fluids of young ladies, but no reason why. The ladies must be at the altar on their wedding day but again no reason why. The female reporter immediately notices the corsages the ladies have, end up at Lorenz’ house then stays the night. She then figures out the truth then spend plenty of time bumbling around before the climax. Lugosi is so masterful in “Dracula” but with these bad b-movies, his legacy just take hit after hit. Skip the film. Comparison: Runaway Bride meets Werewolf of London |
