Dante and Jack are college students who are looking to find the next perfect girl...to get into bed with. Dante has come across Lilith, a new transfer student who also is of the “Goth” persuasion. Undeterred, Dante strikes up a conversation with her about issues he knows far too little about. He pretends that some Dark moon Goddess exists and he wants to do a Séance to call her...problem is, the Goddess actually exists. Inside Lilith. The 2 buddies use a mansion that Jack is house-sitting to set up the event. Howver the owner of the house has left some rotten food lying around and some clumsy actions by our 2 “heroes” soon allows that food to be gobbled up by the rats who reside in the house. The food causes them to mutate and just when the party has gotten started, the rats make their presence well known!
Overall: Let me get this out of the way up front. The special effects weren’t that special. I think the film’s biggest weakness isn’t necessarily the effects by themselves but in the overuse of them. Just too much, too often and frankly, I think they could have been trimmed a bit. Ok, I got the bad part of my review out of the way. It’s a good super-low-budget film. It’s got some laughs, it’s got some good acting and it’s a fun film. And there appears to be no questioning that everyone had fun making it. I think with more money, Fabian can do better. On the budget he had, he did a very decent job. For a low-budget film, I liked the cinematography, the scenery and the various places he shot at. Many film shoot at 2 places and that’s it. Fabian showed us a lot more. He aimed high too, with the effects. No doubt he was working hard trying to do all he had with what little he had. Give this man more $$ and let’s see what he can do!
