Victor Frankenstein is angry when his father forbids him from going to study at college and continue his experiments. But after this father’s unexpected death (at the son’s hands), he uses this wealth to finance his college studies. However he leaves when he gets the dean's daughter pregnant and returns home to set up a laboratory and starts a series of experiments aimed at bringing the dead back to life. But not always do the dead wish to return!
Overall: I’ve got mixed feelings about the movie. I though the acting for the Frankenstein character was quite good and the guy really did a nice job in the role but at the same time, this version of Frankenstein is a total ass who is a womanizer, a liar and a thief. On top of that, the guy is also not having a problem with murdering those who get in his way. He treats his friends like crap and totally ignores the good girls because he wants the bad ones! And the idea of time in the most movie is quite confusing because from the beginning of the film till the need, approximately 7 years have elapsed but sure doesn’t look like it. And please, the maid never once looks 16 years old!!!! I think the ending is very anti-climactic and also that the story at times is quite slow…and yet the acting is so above par, that it still keeps one interested. (Same actor that appeared in Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde) Let me just say, there’s worse films you could be watching. Comparison: Frankenstein meets Van Wilder |
