The House That Dripped Blood (1970)

An inspector looking for a missing movie star tells of 4 stories involving a house that star may have lived in.

          1) Method for Murder – Charles Hillyer and his wife have just moved into their new home and he’s looking to write the next big mystery novel. The house seems to inspire him and he begins to write about a killer who is adept at strangling people, named Dominic. However the more Charles writes, the more the character comes to life for him. Soon enough he can’t tell if he’s taking on the characteristics of Dominic or if Dominic really is alive.

          2) Waxworks – A retired stockbroker is lonely and looking for some companionship but a local entrepreneur has just the answer…problem is that there is a deadly catch.

          3) Sweets to the Sweet – John is trying harder to bond with his daughter since his wife’s death but the girl just isn’t buying the love. After he hires a nanny to help him out, the daughter decides to learn witchcraft to bring mommy back.

          4) The Cloak – Paul is a well-known actor who isn’t giving enough respect to his fellow actors. So one day he takes a job as n actor in a vampire part and his fellow thespians decide to repay him in kind for his attitude.

Overall: This a decent film with a very nice cast: Christopher Lee, Ingrid Pitt, Peter Cushing. The individual stories are just “ok” with the first being the best in my opinion. Nothing too wrong with them but just not that exciting or that spectacular. Basically if you watch this movie, the case probably got ya there. It’s worth a viewing though.
