Dr. Sovac is about to be executed when we see the background to his dilemma. A friend of Sovac’s was hit by a getaway car chased by badder bad guys. Sovac is the only doctor who knows how to do a brain transplant and with this knowledge puts the criminal’s brain into the body of his friend. But the criminal hid a lot of $$ and everyone is dying to find it, including Sovac. However, it seems that the new patient is having problem with his identities which is precisely what Sovac hoped to accomplish. But the bad guys are looking for the $$ too and trust me, they’ll find it.
Overall: Loved the casting of Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff but this plot isn’t remotely realistic. Assuming you can do a brain transplant, how does a body remember stuff without the brain? Assuming this could happen, wouldn’t the body solely be under control of the new brain and have no memories of anything else? Where are the memories otherwise? Nerve endings? Veins? It’s a neat film at times but basically the plot leaves a lot to be desired. Comparison: Body Parts meets Regarding Henry |
