The Killer Eye (1999)

- written November 1999

Well, if anyone wanted to try to reach the Eighth Dimension, then contact Doctor Jordan Grady. In order to facilitate this time travel, the Doc hopes his telescope will beam people out. His 1st victim is a homeless kid whom he pays to take some eye drops and stare into the telescope. But while doing this, the Doc's girlfriend, Rita, interrupts and bitches at him for ignoring her needs. During this, the kid's eyes are possessed by an Alien being, escape from the kid's body, grow 6 feet tall and walk away. When the Doc gets back, he figures out he must find the eye and also what has happened. While the Doc and his assistant, Morton, look for the eye, Rita continues her sexual escapades with 2 men while Morton's wife, Jane, engages in some self-love. Once all the characters recognize that this Killer Eye likes to watch sex and then kill people, they all try to escape. But the Eye won't be stopped until it can kill everyone and solve the mystery that is, sex.

Overall: This is yet another bad film by David DeCoteau (credited here as Richard Chasen…or if you break it down to “Dick Chasin”). We all know where David’s fetishes lie and this film although predating his more obviously gay horror flicks, this film still hints at such here. The men aren’t interested in the wives and the women, but instead only in each other. Film makes no sense but that’s not even the point. It’s not a fun film. There’s no amusement or entertainment value. It’s a silly film that has a giant beach ball in it.
