Kristin is throwing a surprise party for her sister, Angela to celebrate the budding relationship Angela has with Charlie. However, her intentions aren’t very good and she’s got ulterior motives designed to drive Charlie insane. Seems he’s already got baggage from the fact he saw his parents get brutally murdered and now he wants Angela to realize Charlie isn’t for her. However, a particular killer is gonna make sure the fake murder mystery turns into real victims.
Overall: I’ve got a ton to say about this film so first I’ll just address the plot. It’s basically a rip-off of “Stuff Stephanie in the Incinerator” and “April Fool’s Day.” However the film is still kept interesting for much of the time ‘cause you do wanna know what’s going on and who’s the murderer. I felt the scene where Kristin re-explains the plan to the entire group while Angela & Charlie are out in the forest was silly. Silly, because it was obviously designed with the audience in mind. As for the characters, shouldn’t they have already known the plan inside and out before they ever met up for the real thing? And moments after Kristin tells everyone to turn off their cell phone, the phone rings which blows the charade…granted the story intended for that to happen but it would have been more interesting had she told everyone in advance not to bring any cell phones but one character does so anyway…but the fact she says it and minutes later it goes off, just is bad writing and not funny or imaginative. The 3 pranksters are almost forgettable in that they really never influence anything and only serve to add to the body count. Now to the rest of my opinion…I am really getting tired of the unabashed naked men that appear in David DeCoteau’s films. I’ve seen enough of his stuff now to realize, I can skip the rest of his stuff. His movies are male dominated with few women, never any T&A, always men in their underwear, men in the shower, and just oodles of scantily clad men. Women, this is the director for you. You know you get sick of T&A so go out and rent everything DeCoteau has made and you’ll really enjoy yourself. To the straight male viewers out there, you can skip this stuff. This film has 3 women and approximately 10 men. The women don’t do anything but the men really find ways to take stuff off. Oh, and you will soon realize that Kristin knows some secret special, sexual stuff about Charlie and that fits in very well with my rants in previous sentences. Skip this film if you enjoy good T&A.
