Celia & Christopher are out for some fun on the Greek island of Mykonos but their idea of fun includes rape, torture and murder, and not necessarily in that order. Seems that this couple believes in cleansing places they visit by killing the sinners and the perverts. So everyone they come into contact with is gonna be in trouble because this couple doesn’t like to leave any stone unturned (or person left alive).
Overall: Well I will say that this film basically has everything in it: murder, rape of a woman, rape of a male, rape of an animal, torture, drugs, gay men having sex, lesbian women having sex and finally...incest. This film went all out to shock its audience…but tends to fail. If you want real shock, go see “Cannibal Ferox.” This film could have ranked up there in hallowed halls of “Most Disturbing Film of All-time” but failed to deliver. There are no good shots of anything and the director tried the “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” approach towards its gore & murder: you won’t see it but you can imagine it. And it is for those very reasons that the film is just campy. Not that I wanted to get a nice view of rape or bestiality but frankly, the shots are so bad that you just can’t take the film that seriously. Catching the director’s commentary, it was obvious that the director threw in the kitchen sink of perversions and hoped to use this film to make better films in the future…but the movie isn’t as scary nor disturbing as he thinks it is. Don’t buy into the DVD wrapping at the store...which I'll admit is superb marketing. The more it says "banned" and refuses to show you stills, then you know it's just an "attention-getter." I've included some screen-shots below anyway...but, "8MM" was a lot worse than this film is. Comparison: Natural Born Killers meets Seven |
