Slaughter Studios (2002)

Years after a terrible accidental death occurred on a famous Hollywood movie lot which took the life of a popular male actor, a few more wanna-be film-makers wanna use the studio for a new horror film. It seems the director is looking for a scary set and a scarier atmosphere but he doesn’t truly realize what he’s getting himself into. Seems that his cast for the film “Naughty Sex Kittens vs. the Praying Mantis” are being killed 1 by 1. He must either find a way out or recognize that his film isn’t gonna get released.           Overall: The film actually wasn’t as bad as many recent films I’ve reviewed. Yeah it is cheesy but had some good ideas and does the whole “behind the scenes of film making” bit with flair and panache. I didn’t miss the appearance of Lorissa McComas whose sheer appearance usually requires nudity and lesbian acts as well…but overall there is an attempt at a story and some scariness too. And the ending is at least not the typical cheesy horror ending. Not a bad idea for 1 time viewing.           Comparison: Matinee meets Blair Witch Project
