Lost Voyage (2001)

Aaron Roberts lost his parents, as a child, to a cruise ship which got lost in the Bermuda Triangle. 25 years later, the ship is back and he will make sure he is on it to find out what has happened. Including 3 scavenging salvegers and 3 unhappy tv show workers, the 7 of them will battle whatever demons the ship has brought with it.

Overall: This is so clearly a rip-off of “Event Horizon”, the fact that Judd Nelson & Lance Henriksen did this, made me rentit. Why would those 2 put their talents into this film? Who knows but apparently the script writer was asleep at the pen. This film had such potential to be scary. There are some great long shots inside the ship where there could be additional movement behind the characters and it never happens. In fact the film is chock full of scary music and piano playing, and never follows through on it. Not only did this film leave me wishing for more...I was just flat disappointed. It had such abilities and the effects at the end weren’t that bad. It just tried to scare you by the plot and not with any actual effects. It was like a big fat scary demon which only ends up as a façade. All show and no substance.

Comparison: Event Horizon meets Pirates of the Caribbean
