Wilson and Rebecca are police officers who are trying to solve a bunch of brutal murders in New York City. But these murders are so gruesome that they eventually start suspecting wolves of doing this - but not just any wolves, werewolves. A few talks with local Indians and the search is on. But the Police Commissioner may be willing to sweep this werewolf stuff under the rug to convict some terrorists of the same crimes.
Overall: The movie hints at werewolves but doesn’t really follow through with it. It eventually combines some Native American ideas of shape shifters and wolf spirits and turns this movie into a little less dramatic than it could have been. Chock full of stars though: Edward James Olmos, Gregory Hines, and Rejinald VelJohnson (“Family Matters). The whole camera effect of the audience seeing through the wolfs eyes can be cute and amusing when used sparingly such as with the film “Predator,” but it is used so often here that it starts to be aggravating. In fact, since it takes a full 90 minutes to finally figure out we are dealing with wolves and not werewolves, the fact you go so long without knowing who you’ve been seeing out of can make you very disappointed. If I want a good “wolf” movie, I’ll watch “Brotherhood of the Wolf.” Watch this movie for the cast, not for the story. This film is nothing more than “Cujo” with a better casting director.
