House of Whipcord (1974)

Anne Marie is a French model looking for fun and excitement and ends meeting the wrong man and being stranded in a women’s jail that seeks to reform “immoral” woman through torture and punishment. Even Mark E Dassard would find this amusing!

Overall: Hope you caught the name above for what it sounds like - the movie thought that was cute. I thought it was unnecessary! So the idea is that a few older adults find this generation full of immoral corruption and they need to be punished. So they kidnap or just lure the offenders to a lonely castle/prison in the countryside where a few guards and a blind, deaf judge sentence them to being whipped and corralled into moral shape. But Anne Marie is just too popular for this stuff and has her friends try to find her. The film really spends more time on “the system” than on the prisoners and outside of Anne Marie, you really don’t get to see too much of the other victims. The idea is probably the best part of the film but the story as a whole ends up disappointing. The lighting is also quite brutal in the film and since the film tries to scare you and offend you more with what you aren’t seeing, what u do see isn’t very good. I guess this is a film everyone should see and then not watch again.
