I Spit On Your Grave (1978)

Jennifer is an author who just needs some time away from the big city in order to compose her thoughts and make the current book better than any prior work. So out in the country she goes and runs into the worst nightmare she could have conceived of. It will take every bit of strength left to survive. Keeping her alive may have been the first mistake.
Overall: I caught the “Uncut” version on DVD and gotta say “wow!” A very intense and disturbing movie. When I first saw it (the normal version), it didn’t affect me as much as this version did. Most likely that was because the rape scenes are “dumbed down” and choppy in the "r-version". They seemed to be more revenge and less rape. The new version added additional footage to all the rape scenes so now by the 1 hr mark you are still seeing the lady get raped and that can be just emotionally nasty. I gotta say the actress did a damn good job of acting because by the end I was convinced she’d been horribly abused! It’s a slow film which compounds the depravity of the story but the story is pretty good...acting even better!
