Psycho Beach Party (2000)

Florence, a.k.a. Chicklet, is trying to fit in with the rest of her town but her looks and personality are only making her into more of a “drip” by the minute. That is, until some of local kids are being murdered one by one and a new personality is brimming up inside her. Now she’s got the coolest surfer bowing to her every wish and the entire town is wondering just what has got into her!
Overall: I really didn’t want to watch this film for a long time. Movies such as “Pep Squad” have really given spoof films a bad name so when I encountered this I held onto it for months before I was brave enough to see it. And...I liked it. Yeah it is spoofy but has a great cast and even better atmosphere to it. Very enjoyable film. If you blink during the very 1st minute you’ll miss Mike Malin from the reality show “Big Brother 2.” And what was more shocking was Thomas Gibson from “Dharma & Greg” – without the suit it really took me awhile to recognize him! Finally, more nepotism: 4 actors appeared in “Buffy,” 3 on “Party of Five,” 7 on “ER” and 4 on “90210.” Comparison: Bleach Blanket Bingo meets Scream |
