Bless the Child (2000)

Maggie has been given her sister’s baby, almost by default, to raise and after a few years of peace and quiet, Jenna is back for her kin. But Jenna isn’t alone for she’s brought a well-known cultist with her, Eric Stark. Police have been trying to capture Eric Stark for awhile thinking he’s a very bad dude…and he is. Soon he’s kidnapped the child Cody since he intends to turn the girl either into the devil reincarnate or kill the girl as a warning to God, itself. Only a former priest-turned cop can help Maggie and they both may need to give of themselves to save humanity!

Overall: The film was decent with some good effects. It tries to portray itself as being NYC but only comes across as being obviously filmed in Canada. My biggest problem is the kid shows no obvious Autistic behaviors. The video cover, film’s trailers, and even much of the story says the kid is autistic. If that is true, then all films showing autism are wrong! This kid simply looks shy and scared, not physically or emotionally missing DNA.

Comparison: Children of the Corn meets Omen
