Bay of Blood/Twitch of the Death Nerve/
Bahia de Sangre (1971)

- written February 2002

Just when it was safe to be old and leave an inheritance, this family gets going. When the old lady is murdered so the inheritance process starts, the murderer is immediately killed. Such is the setting for the film as the entire family begins engaging in homicide on the nepotismal level. When all is said and done, 4 teens and countless members of the family are dead and you won’t be sure who actually is left alive.

Overall: The first viewing of the film did little for me. All the reviews claim the film is a masterpiece of directing and such, tons of gore, etc. I thought the film was anti-climatic. It gets so boring when the character development doesn’t last. Just when you get interested in a character, they are gone. There’s enough nudity and gore but the film fails to match even “Buried Alive” for those ingredients. Watch this and let me know what you think!

Comparison: And Then There Were None meets Creepshow
