Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001)

In 18th century France, a mysterious creature is attacking women and children in the French countryside. No one has yet been able to stop it, until Grégoire de Fronsac and his Canadian-Indian friend Mani come to visit. They are biologists of the most unique kind and have been sent here by the Emperor of France to stop the killing. But the closer they get to the creature they deeper they delve into the underbelly of French Politics and countryside justice. It will take everything they can muster to defeat this beast from hell.
Overall: Gotta love this film immensely. Word of warning: it’s in French and it’s 2 ½ hours long. If you can sit thru the subtitles, then this films is a must-see. The best of the film is Marc Dacascos - martial artist-extraordinaire and definately a winner in this role. He’s not required to act, being the bad dude that he is, but he is a good actor.
