D.A. Rachel Dwyer is trying to catch a serial killer who preys on female law students and one small mistake by Malcolm Lennox ends up putting him on trial for murder. But the case is so weak, the jury has no choice to let him go. But days later another body with the same m.o. appears and back into jail goes Lennox, except he didn't do this one. No matter, the D.A. arrests him again and convicts him. But as the bodies pile up, who is the real killer?
Overall: The problem with this film is how realistic it is. They can't convict the murderer for a crime he committed and actually convicts him of one he didn't do. Now with the wrongfully convicted man in jail, how do you find the right guy without letting another murderer go free? The movie is more court-room drama than anything, completely lacking in gore but provides the obligatory shower-murder (with a twist). The characters are all very shallow and you can't get too involved with the story because it is so confusing and misleading. The ending really is horrible in its anti-climatic-ness so u gotta skip this film. I admit I rented it to see what had become of Madchen Amick's career - I see why she's a nobody...and why u can't make good horror films about lawyers and law students.
