Night Game (1989)

Detective Mike is a big Astros fan out to catch a killer. The notes from the killer seem to point to someone with a penchant for revenge and that's exactly what Mike needs to look into. He's getting political pressure from his boss, other cops and even the FBI and nothing seems to get him any closer to the killer, until he realizes that the connection between the women is that they attended a certain baseball player's wedding. Mike starts to stalk the team and soon finds one very bitter killer.

Overall: I enjoyed this film in the theatres when I was 16 and it just happened to be my first EBAY purchase. A baseball killer isn't too bad of a plot but the film slows to a crawl in the middle. Too much romance, not enough story and essentially you'd think you had 2 films here. But enjoy the film for the old uniforms, the Astrodome (which doesn't house baseball), and Roy Scheider in this film.

Comparison: Major League meets Bone Collector
