The true story about "The Phantom Killer" who ran through Texarkana in 1946 killing 5 and wounding more. After the local sheriff is confused, the Texas Rangers are brought in. But after weeks of killing and nothing to go on….he disappears.
Overall: The film is ˝ documentary, ˝ drama and frankly that doesn’t work. Just when you start to buy the weak acting, we get narration and useless facts about how the town “felt” instead of seeing people act it out. This really could have been a good film but ultimately the director blew it. In addition, most of the scenes in pitch dark so it is difficult to really see what is happening…even though you can obviously figure it out. My suggestion to you is to watch the film, and then go visit some websites or buy books on the subject if this story truly interests you. Comparison: Friday the 13th Part 2 meets Confessions of a Serial Killer |
