Anthology of 3 tales surrounding the kidnapping of a child by a woman meaning to cook him for dinner and these are stories deisgned to distract her and waste time.
1) Lot 249 - a university researcher gets his own Egyptian mummy complete with coffin. And he knows how to make it arise from the dead and wreck havoc and vengeance on those who dared wrong him. But can anyone stop him? 2) Lover's Vow - A struggling writer meets a mysterious demon one morning after "last call" in a local pub. To stay alive, he promises to keep his mouth shut and not tell anyone what he saw. But then a beautiful woman enters his life and soon he just can't help but spill the beans. 3) Cat Hell - A professional hitman has a date with a cat - a cat which has taken the lives of several relatives of a pharmaceutical genius. But the cat is fighting for all those that died in the discovery of this miracle drug. Overall: Film is not too bad and offers a decent number of stars. I read "Lot 249" written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and the story differs greatly. I think by itself the film version is actually better and more interesting. The short story is a lot more formal and actually ends differently. The others are cute stories that keep you interested. Appropriate comparisons: "Lot 249" = "The Mummy"; "The Bar" = Alien Nation; "The Cat" = "Graveyard Shift." |
