Alex is the daughter of the Museum Curator and she is looking to spend more “quality” time with her boyfriend. But the museum just got a new artifact – a lamp that had been recovered by the police investigating the death of an old lady, and her 3 assailants. Her dad is becoming a little too concerned though with his daughter’s professor to notice that Alex and her friends have decided to spend the night in the museum having sex. But the Djinn, a "genie in the lamp", wants some escape and ends up possessing Alex to achieve her goal. Now her friends must do all they can to survive before the world meets the Djinn.
Overall: Cheese-ball film. No really good complaints about this film because basically there is nothing redeeming about it. It does, if anything, seem to be one giant advertisement for Pepsi though. I dare you to count all the times you see the product. I think that the film although predating the "Wishmaster" series, should have been kept in a film producer's "inbox" until Wes Craven found it. As it was, I guess Wes could have seen this film and felt after 11 years (1986 to 1997) it was time to re-do the idea. Comparison: Wishmaster meets Exorcist |
