Ella is a vampire on the planet Draculon, 30 centuries ago. Vlad is an outlaw vampire who turns on his fellow vampires and kills everyone in sight. The government for execution has captured Vlad, but he won’t let that happen. He escapes and kills the council elders (one of which is Ella’s step-dad). He takes off for earth and she follows. But she gets caught up in space and 30 centuries of sleep later, she is saved when an American shuttle lands on the moon. She hitches a ride and here she is, ready for revenge. She finds an ally in Adam Van Helsing, whose great-grandfather almost defeated Vlad. But Adam dislikes all vampires and must fight his instincts when deciding if the beautiful Ella is an enemy or an ally. And Vlad won’t exactly be giving in either. He has a great plan to take over the world.
Overall: Roger Daltry plays Vlad, and since when have should-be-retired-rockers be movie stars? Talisa Soto is very beautiful but scary and seductive, she isn’t. Her best role was probably in “License to Kill.” Drakulon? 30 centuries ago? Who wrote this crap? Reminds me of a Robert Townsend skit from his HBO series, years back – he spoofs “Star Trek” with a return to South Central L.A. – the jokes in that film are funnier and more complete than anything this film offers. Go rent Robert Townsend and leave this film on the shelves. Please! Comparison: Near Dark meets Wasp Woman |
