This is the story of a few Hittities (Amish) and the incubus. Martha is just a city girl who loves being with her husband, Jim. But Jim used to be a Hittite and left for a better life. But his family won’t let him back and accused him of being an incubus, someone possess by the devil. But when Jim dies, Martha needs some help to find out what happened, and called in her friends Lana and Vicki. But the more people who come to visit, the more who end up dead. Martha must take matters into her own hands and figure out whether the killer is some mysterious demon, or if this is all revenge by Jim’s father Isaiah, or a jealous
neighbor. But as each day passes with the 3 girls in the town, more and more of the Hittites realize that perhaps there life sucks and maybe they need to find a getter life. Bank on the fact Isaiah won’t let that happen.
Overall: This is a Wes Craven film and just happens to feature a very young Sharon Stone. The story sucks though. Firstly, the Hittites are an ancient people and this is basically a film about Amish people without calling them that. Ernest Borgnine plays Isaiah who just has a bit too much fun beating people. The ending is as bad as everyone says – but then again Sharon Stone’s films tend to have that common denominator: "Sliver," "Basic Instinct." I found it amusing the scene where Vicki maces a dog – it is 1981 and joggers are carrying mace? Enjoy the snake in the bathtub scene and if you like a good catfight, you’ll love the last 30 minutes of this film. But I’d say, skip it. Comparison: Witness meets Children of the Corn |
