This is another of Wes Craven's unique horror films. It's the story of Horace Pinker sentenced to die for a series brutal murders, played by "The X-Files" own Mitch Pileggi (Director Skinner). He is set to be electrocuted, with "Chicago Hope's" Peter Berg on to watch, since Berg sent Pinker away. Pinker though made a pact with the devil and had been increasing his own tolerance for electricity by jolting himself in his lonely hours in prison. The electrocution attempt fails when Pinker turns into a burst of energy and escapes though the electricity lines. He also has the ability to go from body to body, which means his pursuers have difficulties knowing whose body he has entered.
Overall: I found this a fun and interesting film. Not a great film nor worth the $3.00 at the video store, but if you are bored and have some free rentals, I say "Go for it!" However visit the link below to "The Horror Show." Tell me which film ripped which film off. Oh, and since "Shocker" was released in 1989, you tell me if "Fallen," made in 1997, is a rip-off of those ideas. Comparison: Angel Heart meets Somebody Has to Shoot the Picture |
