Man in the Attic (1953)

Summary: Mr. Slade is renting a room and soon finds himself somewhat a victim of bad timing. See, it’s 1888 and Jack the Ripper is loose in London. And Mr. Slade can’t seem to do anything that doesn’t also correspond with the Ripper’s movements. God Help Mr. Slade, especially if he really is the Ripper.

Overall: The movie has a decent plot and well it should given it’s adapted from a decent story. I think this film works solely because of Jack Palance. For anyone who first became familiar with Palance in “City Slickers,” this will be a nice treat. His very deliberate words and movements make for a great acting job and the only reason to catch the film.

Comparison: Jack’s Back meets Son of Sam
