Little Corey Gorey (1993)

Summary: Corey has just moved with his stepmother and stepbrother into a new neighborhood. Corey’s dad has died and these 2 now have custody and control of little Corey. But he’s undeterred in his goal for independence and love. Despite the beatings, emotional abuse, when he falls in love, nothing will stop him. So when Biff, his stepbrother, tries to ruin his chance at love with Jackie, a classmate, finally Corey has had enough. Biff ends up falling through the shower door and to cover that up, Corey ties up his step-mother. Then he tries a normal life...while his step mom remains tied up. But even this new girl will soon turn out to not be his friend either and Corey will finally just plain snap!           Overall: This isn’t a very good film. The effects aren’t all that great and frankly, my biggest beef is with the plot. I’m not sure any of this is remotely realistic. I thought the most unbelievable part was actually the most amusing. There is no way the mom can stay tied up for as long as she did, with that many people noticing and Corey gets away with it, for as long as he does. I mean t there are like 50+ people by the end of the film who see step-mommy tied up and no one ever does anything. I find that quite silly. And yet, it does make for a nice running joke as to how bad this film is. If anything disappointed me most, it was the lack of “gore.” You title the move as such, you give the main characters the last name of “gorey” and then each death includes almost nothing. That was my biggest disappointment.           Comparison: Ed Gein meets Goonies
