House of the Dead/Alien Zone (1978)

          Summary: A man lost on his way back to his hotel, fresh from cheating on his wife, finds shelter with a mortician who explains to him 4 stories…hoping to pass the time.


1) Mrs. Sibler: Not a fan of children, they will get their revenge

2) Mr. Growski: A man who takes a little too much pleasure in his work of seducing his victims

3) The Detectives: A battle of wits for the greatest living detectives

4) Mr. Cantwell: A sensitive man who gets his come-uppance



          Overall: There wasn’t much that was worthwhile in this film. Frankly the most interesting part is how anyone titled this “Alien Zone.” No aliens anywhere around and can’t even use the definition for “immigrants” either. Just a weird marketing thing going on. Anyway, skip the story. The first 2 really lack any punch and actually speed along too fast to get a good rhythm going. The one about the detectives is most interesting but only because they had the actors to pack it up with somewhat decent performances. Skip it.
