The Booth (2005)

Summary: Shogo is an arrogant host of a popular call-in radio-show and tonight he will broadcast out of Studio 6, a creepy booth abandoned for years, ever since its last DJ committed suicide years ago. Tonight, as he begins receiving calls, a voice cuts in on the line whispering “Liar” over and over. As the night progresses, things get worse and soon He’ll wonder if tonight’s show will be his last.

Overall: This is a decent film and worth a viewing. It essentially has this air of being the usual “Japanese Ghost Story” film but quickly sheds that persona early on. We get everything from the DJ’s perspective, knowing nothing different than he does. As each call comes in and we see that he’s catching the general idea of what’s happening, neither of us still knows truly who is calling. Some nice twists too as Mabuchi (his girlfriend/co-worker) shows up to work. You sit there and wonder, is she a ghost or is she real???? Very decent film.
