Camp Slaughter/Camp Daze (2005)

Summary: It is August 1981 and Camp Hiawatha is in full swing. It’s a time for fun, crafts and murder. However, things are gonna get a little more interesting when 4 young adults from 2006 end up at this camp, which is stuck in time. Every day is the same day...the last day of camp season when someone ran through the camp killing everyone in their way. And these 4 trespassers are just trying to make it through the day to get back to their own time. But there’s s a killer loose and they’ll take out 4 more bodies, no problem.

Overall: Bottom line is that I enjoyed the film. I’ll admit the film had some flaws in executing, especially with some inconsistencies with the year of the setting and things they were portraying. But those are minor issues. It’s a fun film and frankly, the best actors are those portraying the 1980’s characters. In fact, I found the actors with 2006 characters as quite weak and I still can’t figure out what sort of relationship “Jen” had with her 3 friends. She never got on with them and there was no indication where these 4 were going or coming from or why they were even friends…sure seemed at odds to me. But regardless, it’s worth the 90 minutes of your life. Don’t miss Ikaika from “Making the Band” Season 1 as a counselor!
