Summary: Ben is a native Aussie who is taking 2 Brit friends out into “the bush” so they can all experience a crater out in Wolf Creek. But once they arrive, nothing will ever be the same. Their car dies and they need help, getting it from a local, Mick, who isn’t what he appears to be. Frankly, if he has his way, he’ll be the last person anyone sees. And they’re gonna die painfully.
Overall: One of the main criticisms of the film is somewhat valid…it does start off slow but frankly, that’s because they’re trying to develop the characters for you. I think the film did a good job though, despite it taking a long time to get to the inevitable climax of bad guy chasing good guys/girls. You know you’re in for something different when your main lead, Liz, takes some sever physical punishment. And I don’t mean some “Rocky” film in terms on a beating. Many horror films kill off much of the lower-level characters and leaves the main character with some scratches. This film isn’t afraid to shake things up and trust me…it will. Good, good film. Definitely a watchable film that should be fun. Comparison: A Cry in the Dark meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre |
