Summary: The good Baron has been banished from his hometown and now is getting run out of his new city. Seems the locals aren’t very happy that he’s digging up corpses and using them for his experiments. So, he and his assistant decide to try back at the Baron's hometown one last time and in doing so, come across his infamous monster, still frozen in time. One more chance to revive him but this time, the Baron will need help from a hypnotist, who has his own ideas on what to get out of his new play toy.
Overall: The reason the film doesn’t work, despite Cushing’s usual brilliance, is the fact the monster just looks fake. I mean it’s really weak and pathetic the costume he’s got on. And for that reason alone, the film just isn’t good. The whole idea that they need a carnival hypnotist to help revive the monster seems cheesy especially when they never explain why the monster answer to one person but not the other...it’s just assumed, that’s the way it goes. Skip the film. Comparison: Frankenstein meets Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure |
