Chiller (1985)

Summary: At a cryogenic factory, something goes wrong which allows the body of Miles Creighton to thaw out. And with that, the doctors of the local hospital are able to cure the disease he was afflicted with and voila, he’s alive now. But something is different about him and he’s not the same tycoon he used to be. Before he was “ruthless” and now he’s “cut-throat.” The only question is, how many will he kill before someone stops him.

Overall: This is an example of a film that although may have had a good premise, just didn’t have any “finish” to it. Although it gets marketed with the name “Wes Craven,” clearly Wes was still an amateur when filing this movie. It’s got promise but can’t capitalize on its strengths. The dvd transfer is awful and as much as I’d like to hold that against the film, frankly it looks as cheap as a “made for tv” movie and frankly, that’s as good as it’s gonna get. The one plus to the film was the appearance of Jill Schoelen which only made me yearn for her better works.
