Summary: Gerald and Marianne are newly married and just trying to get
to their intended destination. But the car runs out of gas and soon they're the
guests of Dr. Ravna. And that isn't a good thing. It seems like gas is hard
to come by in these small European towns and only after a nice masquerade ball
can they truly find salvation to get back on the road. But that's when Marianne
is kidnapped and the only one who'll help Gerald get his wife back is a drunk
vampire-slayer. Well that and the fact this slayer also knows how to perform
incantations to bring up evil so demonic it can kill even vampires.
Overall: This film took the rules about vampires and practically through them out of the room when constructing this story. We have a lot going on that is new and frankly it's difficult to get used to. The ending seems downright heresy but it is sorta "kismet" too.
