Octane/Pulse (2003)

Summary: Nat is having serious issues with her mother, Senga, and tonight will be the culmination of a war that had previously just been bubbling beneath the surface. On the way home from her father's, Nat realizes they've forgotten the present that her dad had for her. As they wait for it, the duo notices some odd people that have continued to crop up and after a nice blow-up over the present from dad, Nat runs off with the strangers. Now Senga must do whatever she can to find her daughter before she vanishes forever.

Overall: This film is seriously flawed the biggest reason why is the timing. The film basically starts and ends in the same night and frankly, with all the driving, places they go, etc., it's just not realistic or possible for this to all have occurred. Despite the fact that Nat goes missing, and mom spends an hour chatting with a cop, she has no problems catching up with the bad guys…on a few occasions. The whole plot is poorly written since it's assumed the bad guys are vampires, but never quite made official. In addition, the actions of all the characters are just never believable nor is the fact that Senga ends up at the same rest stop about 5 times with no real explanation. The film is an absolute mess and needs to be missed.
