Razorback (1984)

Summary: Beth Winters travels to Granulla in the Australian Outback to investigate the slaughter of kangaroos, which has become widespread. But when she sneaks into investigate this slaughterhouse with a camera, she is seen by the two owners who attack her. They eventually get driven off by a mystical creature. But her husband won’t take “no” for an answer and he wants some “one on one” time with the creature, and he’s gonna get it.

Overall: Had a few thoughts about this film, one being…was the ending trying to be more “pro-Lindy Chamberlin” (think “Cry in the dark “ with Meryl Streep and the infamous “dingo incident.” Also, the film actually tries to be more than a “killer animal” movie. It tries to show the outback as a weird, alien-type place with all sorts of nuances. But that slows everything down and can tend to be boring. You want more of our “razorback” and less of this widower dealing with rednecks and their peyote. And the ending was just plain silly. Only reason to get this film, is for its sheer obscurity.
